Faith and fellowship were the main components of how the The BeatBoys became a reality for four local Honolulu friends/musicians. From varied musical paths, Russ Shiroma, Steve Masui, & Layne Maeoka came together to honor the passing of a very dear friend who truly enjoyed the music of their era, the 60’s & 70’s. After a casual/impromptu performance at her service, it was mutually decided to carry out a new project in her honor. With faith and intention playing a huge part for such a worthy project, bassist Tom Neves appeared as the fourth member to complete…The BeatBoys. The BeatBoys is comprised of four musicians who have combined over 100 years of musical experience into a very tight package of harmonious vocals and intense instrumentality! Their renditions of “lost, but not forgotten” tunes from the 60’s and 70’s, done in the The BeatBoys style, creates a “wall of sound” that is sure to drive partiers to the dance floor while at the same time, mimic words to every familiar tune. The BeatBoys repertoire includes favorites from the early Beatles era, Johnny Rivers, The Ventures, The Rolling Stones, the memorable vocal harmonies of the Everly Brothers, and many more. In keeping with a consistent flow of the 60’s and 70’s, special attention is placed on

costuming/staging as well as the use of vintage-like equipment to replicate the authenticity of the aforementioned eras. The primary client base are Baby Boomers, but The BeatBoys also seem to attract younger fans who are appreciating Mom and Dad’s music. The BeatBoys are a very flexible unit and will work with you to create an unforgettable event. As stated above, the excellent equipment allows The BeatBoys to compliment your event at every possible sound level. The band is prepared to perform at lounge to concert levels.
